    Prepare for Moving:

    Once we have a firm deal we will send all relevant paperwork to your lawyer/notary and put them in touch with the Buyer lawyer. In the meantime, you will need to arrange the following. We can assist with recommending names of service providers.

    Line up movers and any storage required in between moves.

    Arrange insurance for your new property according to the adjustment dates and keep insurance on your property until the Completion Date

    Arrange for transfer of telephone, cable, internet and utility services such as gas and electric

    Keep up landscaping, house cleaning, pool maintenance on your home until the Completion Date

    Arrange for alarm system to be switched to Buyers name, if necessary

    Is your propane tank, geothermal system leased? Notify the company if the new purchaser will take over the lease.

    When moving out of town, ask a friend or relative to receive your mail for a 3 month period and set up with Canada Post Mail Forwarding.

    Complete any repairs that may have come up during negotiations or inspections retaining all paid invoices.

    We are ready to assist you should an unforeseen glitch pop up, even at this last stage. Something at the property breaks down, or some other minor detail – no need to worry. We have encountered these problems before so we know how to handle them efficiently and in a stress-free manner.

    Completion Date:

    The Contract of Purchase and Sale, which you signed, will state the completion date for the transaction. On that day, legal ownership will transfer from your to the Buyer owner in exchange for the purchase price of the home. Your lawyer will have you in to sign paperwork a few days in advance to the Completion Date.

    Possession Date:

    This is the date and time we issue keys to the buyer for Possession of your home.
